Videography

 Videography is an area in which I am still developing skills. I use my mobile phone to create videos for social media, and mainly an app called YouCut for video editing, although sometimes also Canva. I am familiar with video editing concepts such as splitting, trimming, transitions and matching to audio. I stay up to date with trends across Instagram Reels and Tiktok to incorporate into videos.  On modern social media, I find that short, fast, snappy videos with a good audio perform the best. I can use various apps to create fun effects that tend to be attention grabbing (e.g. the "sweet dreams" video below).

Book "aesthetic" videos are also popular - this involves using images and video to capture the "vibe" of a book, such as the below:

Lists and quick reviews/ratings also tend to do well:

One of my most recent projects was this author interview. I found it performed less well on social media and perhaps would be more suited to a longer format platform such as YouTube:

@thecoffeebooksandmagic many thanks to the author and @mtmctours #authorinterview #indiebooks #charlielavender #booktok #bookwitch #mtmctours #yabooks #ausbooktok #fantasybooks ♬ Paper Birds (3 min) - Jordan Halpern Schwartz
